SMILE

_Smile_ is a mutant Wal-mart family photo set on the edge of the apocalypse. A totally interactive exhibit, participants can select from (or bring their own) masks and backdrops to stage their own predictions of our future wastelands. Photos from the opening reception by » Jennifer Brandel.



GROSS FARM

_Gross Farm_ is a series of drawings which touches on genetic modification, nanotechnology, environmental deterioration, and the global food economy. The work is a springboard for a forthcoming installation incorporating soft sculpture and hand-printed wallpapers based on the drawings.

When I went to Las Vegas for the first time. I stayed on a friend's couch, didn't gamble or go to any shows. I made a lot of drawings though.



THE SOFT SHOP

_The Soft Shop_ is a collaborative project with »Rebecca Grady, Ilana Percher and Charles Vinz. Originally shown at the fourth annual »Art Shanty Projects on Medicine Lake, Minnesota, _The Soft Shop_ appropriates various nomadic architectural forms, incorporating them into a community fiber arts workshop on a frozen lake.

SOME GHOSTS

_Some Ghosts_ incorporates embroidery and stop-motion animation techniques to create a colorful dreamscape in which an unwitting spaceman looses angry spirits from a haunted medicine cabinet. Audio production was done in collaboration with »Alexis Gideon. _Some Ghosts_ was recently screened as part of the »Chicago Short Film Brigade's debut program in early 2007.

LIVE ACTION SCREENPRINTING

interactive public workshop

_Live Action Screenprinting_ is an ongoing project in which I set up a temporary screenprinting studios in public places and art venues. Participants can bring any printable material and watch (or help) me print on it, for free or for a modest price. The goal of the project is to create accessible fashion and artwork, demystify process, and make a concrete connection between artist, space and viewer. Plans are in the works to make a self-contained, bike-driven studio unit, possibly with wind power(!). _Live Action Screenprinting_ is often done in collaboration with »Myles Smutney-Hyde.
